As you know, I have made it my occasional mission to adorn the heads of friends and babies with cephalopods. Finally, my efforts have brought fame! I was recently invited to add a couple of my Flickr photos to a group called Octopus on Yo Head. You can probably guess why.

They're Watching
Apparently, all those "paranoid" "delusions" I've been having -- you know, the ones where I'm being secretly photographed while going about my daily activities -- aren't completely unfounded! I knew it!
Alaskanmama sent me a message last night entitled "You're a Google STAR!" And inside were these three screenshots:

Soren and I have been immortalized (in internet terms) on Google Maps Street View!!!!!!!! Freaking sweet! Apparently I was zoning out on that particular walk, and missed the car driving by with the big 360-degree camera mounted on top. I was probably looking at a really fascinating pile of moose poop at the time.
It's so exciting to be in Street View! Even if it is some random corner of Anchorage that no one will ever look at (except Alaskanmama, apparently). You can see the pictures by going to maps.google.com and typing in "1786 Scenic Way, Anchorage, AK", then clicking on the Street View link, and then rotating the view counterclockwise a couple times. And then, assuming I know you as well as I think I do, you will type in your own address and look for yourself.

Thought Jambalaya
I am stealing this link from alaskanmama because it is awesome.
Here's an idea for the organizers of the Super Bowl: keep an eye on the nationwide weather reports for a week before the big game, and then play in the stadium that will have the crappiest weather. Football - snow = boring. Especially when the Patriots are going to be in the Super Bowl, so we obviously know how the game will turn out.
Can I tell you why the internet is a beautiful, wondrous thing? It is because there was this milk commercial from 1993 that I used to LOVE, and I figured that I would never see it again after the ad stopped running, but then I thought of it again a little while ago and looked on YouTube, and behold: it lives.
Another wonder of the internet: I can be watching Scrubs and think, "Man, that Janitor seems to be a tall fellow," and then the internet will tell me just how tall he is. What? Look it up yourself, if you really want to know.
Soren's squid hat has been passed on to his friend Margot, since it doesn't fit over his huge head any more. It looks pretty good on Margot, and the squid seems happy to have a new baby to feast upon.

LOL
Since I don't have any hilarious tales to tell at the moment, I'll pass along a couple things that have made me laugh. A blog post consisting solely of links to funny things on the internet!?!?!? Has such a thing ever been attempted before?
First of all, best of craigslist is a reliable source of really funny (and usually X-rated) stuff. Here is a nice G-rated selection: Survival of the Fittest
Have you ever found a site or a blog or something and gotten so engrossed in it that you decide you need to read all the pages/posts/whatever, only there turn out to be about 400 pages/posts/whatever, and it takes you a few hours to get through it all, and then you have kind of an internet hangover? And you swear you're never going to do that again, because there about a billion other things you could have done with those few hours, like interact with your family? But then the internet calls to you again with its siren song of craziness and hilarity, and you end up wasting a perfectly good naptime reading best of craigslist?
Damn you, internet.
Anyway, this site will give you an internet hangover, and it will be totally worth it: Passive-Aggressive Notes Warning to people who don't like swear words: the site features lots of swear words.
