For Your Amusement

A limerick, inspired by Sigrid's ear infection:

There once was a doctor named Titus
Whose laughter was boist'rous and riotous
He about blew a gasket
When a patient once askéd
"Tell me, why does my ear hurt, O Titus?"

I'm not buying rhyming gasket with asked.

For that matter, rhyming Titus with Titus...

Perhaps you didn't note the accent over the e in askéd? And rhyming a word with itself has precedent in limericks; look at pretty much any Edward Lear limerick. So HA!
